Q. I've seriously been dating this guy for six months now and he keeps telling me we're both free to see other people. I don't want to see other people! What should I do?

Who is he trying to convince—you or him? When a guy says shit like this, it's for one of three reasons:

1. He's freaking out that he's in deep.

2. He cheated on you and doesn't want to feel guilty about it.

3. He wants to see your reaction. Will you get jealous? Will you fuck other men if you have his permission?

If you're relatively sure he's been faithful (i.e., you're together 24/7 and he doesn't even look at other girls), then chalk it up to his insecurity getting the best of him. Men say stupid things when they like you. It's like their brains shut down to protect them from getting hurt. If you really wanna fuck with his head, you can answer, "Oh, good. I was hoping you would say that..."

Or you can sit down with him and say "I want to be exclusive with you." See what he says...

Well, I've been in this situation a few times...with the same guy. I actually JUST got out of it. Things won't change... If he is set on seeing other people... then he obviously doesn't realize what's sitting right in front of him. Love yourself enough to leave it alone. Believe me... after you stop paying him the attention he so desperately wants he'll become your own personal puppy....but as soon as you go back it'll be the same all over again. It sucks... but that's life.

My boyfriend and i have been looking at engagement rings for about 4months now and he is in the military and deploys in August...why hasn't he proposed yet?

And Rebekah...he either can't afford a ring or he's got reservations. My brother proposed to his wife when he was in basic by sending her a hot sauce packet that said 'will u marry me?' On it lol. He's halfway through his first tour and they just had their first daughter in January. It will happen when it's time. Be grateful for what u have in this moment. Try not to get too caught up in terminology. It doesn't mean he loves u any less.....

My boyfriend and I were like this for over a year. Our little arrangement was, though, that if he saw anyone else, then we were over. Of course I had no desire for anyone else, I wanted him. I was put in the situation where I finally had to tell him I wanted us to be exclusive and how much I liked him. So for being friends for over three years, seeing each other off and on over two years, and finally exclusive for the last four and a half months, we're doing pretty good. So see, these types of situations are not always bad. My guy just don't know how to express himself, or is used to it in the slightest.
