Ask JWOWW: I Miss Jersey

Q: Hey Jwoww, my name is Brittany, and I live in Florida.  I'm originally from Jersey and I really hate it here in Florida but my husband’s mother forced us to move out here. I have no friends and all my friends from jersey hate me for leaving, even my family disowned me. My husband and I fight like cats and dogs. I don’t know, I'm confused and very home sick. What do I do. I know that you are probably a very busy person and probably get tons of emails a day, but if you happen to come across your site…can you please help me?

I do get lots of emails but I’m never too busy for a soul in need. Sounds like you’re in a pretty sucky situation here. I travel a lot, but no matter where I am, Jersey is in my heart. Maybe if you try to embrace the Florida life, you and your husband will get along better. I think you should make the most of whatever situation you’re in and not dwell on what you can’t have. If you have one leg in the past, and the other leg is in the future, then you’re pissing on today. Does that make sense? I’ve been to Florida and there are some great places to party down there…great food…great bars. I know this may not be what you want to hear but Jersey ain’t going nowhere, and it’ll be here when you get back. Try to enjoy Florida while you can. Make some new friends. Embrace the now! Live life to the fullest. Show the peeps of Florida how to party Jersey style!

I want my Florida readers to help make Brittany feel at home. Tell her some of your favorite places and things to do.

I grew up in New Jersey and have moved to oregon a couple times because my mom lives there and I hated her being so far away. However everytime I moved there I only stayed for a couple months because I always ended up missing it. I just moved to Oregon again with my boyfriend Travis (Also from NJ) Its just so much cheaper here but its still not the same. We just stay home all the time. I'm so used to having so much fun and so many friends and so many things to do. I really can't afford New Jersey but I'm so unhappy being away from New Jersey. It makes me mad when people who live there are like "I just wanna get out of this crappy place" When I'm sitting here wishing I could switch them spots and just be back home :(

I think its great that you live in a city and have many friends. I am sort of the polar opposite now that I have moved out of big cites like Calgary, and Vancouver to move back with my parents on Vancouver Island. Its a very poor economic environment and finding work here is getting more incredibly difficult. I never had many friends in the large cities myself but I did find work easily. Its hard on a mans ego when he has been unemployed for too many years in a row but I don't want to leave the security of my family. Its not that I am lazy its just I want it all, my family , the ability to save money , and secure employment. However I have yet to find someone to be as generous with their money as I have been with complete strangers in the past. I dont want to complain too much and bring down your cheering blog but you know what I mean.
